The 24th China (Shanghai) International Optics Fair Grandly Opens Today
On March 2, the 24th China (Shanghai) International Optics Fair (SIOF 2026) grandly opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
At 10:00 a.m., more than 100 distinguished guests attended the opening ceremony, including Zhang Chonghe, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of China National Light Industry Council; Du Tonghe, Vice President of China National Light Industry Council and Chairman of China Opticians Association; Zhang Weiping, Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of China Opticians Association; Pu Yongxiang, Resident Vice Chairman of China Opticians Association, as well as other part-time vice chairmen and honorary vice chairmen, leading officials from relevant government authorities of major optical production regions, exhibitors and buyer representatives, and representatives of optical associations and chambers of commerce from various regions. The opening ceremony was presided over by Jiang Bo, Resident Vice Chairman of China Opticians Association.

In his speech, Chairman Du Tonghe pointed out that 2026 marks the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period. The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee clearly called for adhering to high-quality development, accelerating the development of new-quality productive forces, and promoting an effective improvement in economic quality and reasonable growth in quantity. This has pointed out the direction for the transformation and upgrading of the optical industry and brought new opportunities.
Under the theme of "i for a New Vision", this fair aims to guide the industry to: anchor goals with an international vision, consolidate foundations through quality improvement and efficiency enhancement, forge core competencies via intelligent upgrading, respond to consumer demands with diversity and fun, break development bottlenecks with continuous innovation, and seize the initiative for the future with vibrant creativity.
He called on all parties to take the fair as a bond, join hands to deepen cooperation, jointly explore development paths for a "new vision", and draw a magnificent blueprint for the development of China’s optical industry.
After the opening ceremony, President Zhang Chonghe, Chairman Du Tonghe, and their entourage visited the booths of enterprises, including Zeiss Optical, EssilorLuxottica, Hoya Optical, and Pengsheng Technology, as well as special exhibition zones such as the Smart Glasses Pavilion. They exchanged views with enterprise representatives on exhibition participation, business layout, technological innovation and other topics.
